Variety of Chefs Ball 2016

As if there wasn’t enough gorgeous food on offer for this ultimate foodie experience but guests were greeted ‘pre-dinner’ with champagne and fresh oysters prepared and served by none other than Perth’s own Jerry Fraser.

This renowned black-tie foodie affair saw over 200 people come together at the Grand Ballroom Crown Perth to enjoy exquisitely crafted cuisine. The annual sell-out event brings together Australia’s best chefs giving their time and talent to help others. Funds raised from the evening go towards providing practical equipment to W.A. children who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs.

Our hosts for the evening were Pip O’Connell and Lachy Reid, the live auction was lots of fun with Tiny Holly at the helm. His fast, witty and unruly jokes are always appreciated by the crowd.

Peter Manifis from Passion meets Purveyor prepared the Amuse Bouche ( which is a single, bite size hors d’oevre) ; Port Phillip scallop with cauliflower purée, chorizo oil and pork crackle crumble

First Entree was by Stephen Clark, (Clarkes of North Beach) he prepared roast chicken and charred sweet corn

The Second entree was prepared by Colin Fassnidge (of My Kitchen Rules) he served up; soy cured tuna with lemon curd and fennel

Main course was served by Sean Marco of Crown Perth; venison blackberry quince and potato

And finally the delicious desert was prepared by Hadleigh Troy of Restaurant Amuse; chocolate, buttermilk and verjuice

The main aim of this event is to help children with special needs to live, laugh and learn, by providing them with vital and practical equipment, programs and experiences so that they can live a life to its fullest. It’s important these kids can gain mobility and freedom to get out with their families to enjoy life and increase self esteem.
